Juvenile and Youth Defense
Children and youths can be prosecuted in juvenile or adult court for delinquent acts. Our attorneys have significant experience in both defending and prosecuting youth citations and youth offenses. We can help your child navigate this incredibly important time — and help minimize its impact on their futures.
Criminal Expungements (Help Clear Your Record)
At Contour Law, we understand that good people sometimes make mistakes, and mistakes do not define who you are.
As a result, we are pleased to help guide you through the expungement process (helping ask a Court to take a conviction off your “record”).
Protection Orders
Helping you file for a protection order: When situations and relationships become dangerous, quick action may be needed. Our attorneys can help you obtain a Temporary Order of Protection or a Permanent Order of Protect (these are sometimes called a “restraining order”). We can help take any evidence you may have and draft and file a petition for an order of protection. If appropriate, we can help you evaluate whether to file for an order of protection against another person, whether a family member, acquaintance, roommate, stalker, or former romantic partner. We’re here to help guide you through this process, so you can feel safe and secure.
Helping you defend a protection order: When a court issues a temporary or permanent order of protection against you, it can have far reaching consequences. And, unfortunately, people sometimes seek an Order of Protection for improper reasons: perhaps to make false or misleading allegations or gain a tactical advantage in a court proceeding. Our attorneys can help you navigate a situation in which someone has filed for an order of protection against you. We also represent clients charged with criminal offenses who are also facing a request for an order of protection at the same time. In these situations, it is even more important to have a coordinated approach to addressing the criminal case and the order of protection, so that you aren’t at a disadvantage.
Felony Probation Services
If you are currently on felony probation with the Department of Corrections, our attorneys can help identify whether you are a good candidate for conditional discharge from supervision, early termination of supervision, or early termination of your sentence. We can also help explain the interstate compact system and transferring your supervision to another State.
Other Legal Issues
We know that your legal issue may not fit neatly into a “practice area.”
